Once the January 1 date passes, many people make resolutions to start the new year on the right track. Health should be our top priority because it is the basis of a harmonious and peaceful life. Below I present to you five good decisions to maintain health for many years.
First, let’s take care of our diet. Eat healthy foods discreetly. We should especially avoid processed and industrial foods that contain excess salt, sugar, fat and artificial ingredients. Before purchasing a product, it will be necessary to know its contents by referring to its packaging label. For example, industrial juices that have an “ose” or “ol” ending (eg glucose, glucose, fructose, polyol, etc.) mask an excessive concentration of sugar. These toxic ingredients not only promote obesity, but also lead to diabetes as well as other tricky diseases. Let’s use this good old pot more often to prepare a varied and balanced diet. In our kitchen, let’s favor basic ingredients like starches as well as fresh vegetables and fruits. Let’s not forget to add the most important element which is love. We don’t see it, we don’t feel it, we don’t feel it, but love keeps us in good company when we sing at the top of our lungs to sizzle meat, to chop onions, to peel garlic to chop weeds and peel potatoes. Then, it would be nice to combine the pleasures of the mouth with kindness by inviting dear souls to share their meals with us.
Second, let’s avoid a sedentary lifestyle. In this case, sports are significantly beneficial for both physical and mental. On a physical level, sports help keep our heart vibrant, strengthen our bone mass and boost our immunity. Also, exercise helps to lose weight. This is important because the health consequences of obesity are staggering. Obesity reduces life expectancy by eight to ten years compared to the rest of the population. On a psychological level, sports can stimulate the brain, maintain morale and even delay cognitive decline. Beforehand, let’s consult our doctors to find out what sports we can play safely. Let’s take breaks to relax our joints, tendons, and ligaments. Also, let’s avoid the misuse of sports that can cause us debilitating injuries. Let’s listen to our bodies and respect their capabilities and limitations.
Third, let’s reduce our daily stress. Let’s make our life simpler and more relaxed. Let us not fall into the trap of performance and desire to achieve professional goals at any cost, especially when it is done at the expense of our well-being. If work is healthy, taking breaks is also maintaining it. In fact, it pays to take your time, don’t over-run, sleep peacefully, and wake up peacefully without feeling unnecessarily guilt. This does not mean giving up his career ambitions. Indeed, let us continue to work hard and enthusiastically. However, let’s know how to hang out wisely by relaxing our schedule. There is a saying: “There is no need to rush, there are only people in a hurry.”
Fourth, let us stretch our minds with a material, intellectual, or spiritual passion that gives us deep and wonderful exaltation. A life without passion is a life without taste. All great works are created with passion, be it a poem, a symphony, a painting, a cathedral or something else. Be careful, however, not to confuse passion with addiction. Passion is often beneficial because it can sharpen creativity and thus beautify existence. On the other hand, addiction is often harmful because it can become obsessive and thus make our lives ugly. For example, misusing gambling, drinking or eating is dangerous and unhealthy for the body as well as the mind. Even the misuse of love can have serious consequences because it can eventually lead to physical and emotional harassment.
Fifth, let us enjoy the spontaneous, bustling beauty of nature. She offers her lovers a swarm of harmonious, unscheduled, uncoordinated miracles. Let us go out to discover, without haste, the natural blessings that sprout all around us, be they gardens, gardens, beaches, trails, villages or mountains. Let us indulge ourselves by unleashing our feelings and by using our different senses i.e. taste, smell, sight, hearing and touch. Let’s spend great lazy days enjoying the faded and diffused gold of a beautiful blonde sun. Let us stretch in the shade of the tall trees to watch the frantic path of the raging stream cascading from the top of the cliff to reach its sanctuary at the bottom of the valley. We are so obsessed with our daily fears that we often tend to overlook the sublime creation of the Divine Hand. Yet nature at hand. In addition, it is free.
Happy New Year and good health to all.
