The media authority in Jordan has decided to ban the showing of the film “Eternals”, the latest productions of the “Disney group” of the series of superhero films in the “Marvel world”, after the organizers refused to shoot some scenes ” remove”.
The authority said in a statement from the Jordan News Agency that it had “decided to ban the showing of the film (Eternals) in all cinemas in the Kingdom since the 10th of this month, due to the failure of the manufacturer and distributor of the film.” film. to conditionally remove his license before the show,” said Agence France-Presse.
She pointed out that “the decision came after the film’s manufacturer refused to remove some scenes that do not comply with the system of audiovisual works, in addition to changing the age rating of the film being shown.”
The authority confirmed that “the film will never be shown in any of the cinemas in the Kingdom.”
In its statement, the commission did not provide more details about what these scenes were not allowed to show, but the work has recently sparked controversy in the Arab region over allegations of supporting homosexuality in some of its scenes.
Jordan’s decision comes after press reports in recent days of similar decisions to ban the film in other Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and Egypt.
But the work, which is leading box office revenues in North American cinemas, is being shown in other Middle Eastern countries, including the UAE and Lebanon, as shown by the schedules of film screenings in local cinemas.
